RESERVE — East St. John head soccer coach Paul Dupuy says that he is looking forward to getting the year underway.
“We’ve got a better squad than last year,” Dupuy said Tuesday. “We’ve got a chance to see some real improvement, we’re just looking for that one player to step up and show that he can be a scoring threat. With some accuracy and ball control offensively, we stand a pretty good chance I think.”
The Wildcats got a good start for the year with a 3-2 start. A home win over Ellender last week gave the Wildcats a boost heading into their match this week against South Terrebonne.
This weekend, the Wildcats are scheduled to head to the Northshore to play in the Pearl River tournament against St. Martin, St. Thomas Aquinas and Central of Baton Rouge.
East St. John’s next home game is set for December 8 at Joe Keller Stadium in Reserve. There, the Wildcats will play host to Thibodaux before taking on St. Charles and Hahnville the following week.
