West St. John’s girls basketball team improved to 4-3 through the first seven games of the season this week with a 63-17 win over Phoenix Tuesday.
The Lady Rams were led in the victory by Destani Commini, who led all scorers in the game with 16 points. Jada Fiffie was the only other player in the game to reach double digits, posting 14.
The WSJ squad left little room for error against the Phoenix team, holding the Lady Gators to seven points in the first half for a 31-7 lead at the break. The second half was much of the same as West St. John outscored Phoenix 25-2 in the third quarter and ate the clock in the final period en route to the 63-17 final.
The Lady Rams look to get back to work this Tuesday when they hit the road to play Grand Isle.
