LULING- A Luling woman was allegedly assaulted by an unknown black male after giving the man directions, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Capt. Pat Yoes, leading the law enforcement agency to seek a “person of interest”.
The 33-year-old Luling woman reported to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office that she went into the Spur Station on Hwy. 90 in Luling to purchase cigarettes and drinks.
Upon returning home at approximately 5:30 a.m. and while entering her apartment near the 100 block of Lakewood Drive, an unknown black male in a maroon mini van stopped and began asking her for directions to Slidell.
The victim said that she invited the suspect in, and after offering something to drink, the subject produced a gun and assaulted her, then stole her computer and cash.
The suspect is described as a black male approximately 25 years of age, short black hair, medium build, and medium skin tone. The subject was wearing blue denim shorts, a t-shirt, and a hooded sweatshirt or jacket.
A surveillance camera at the Spur Station captured the photographic image of the person of interest. Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect or having additional information should contact the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-6807 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-903-STOP. Citizens need not give their name or testify and could receive a reward up to $2,500.
