Riverside basketball was underway again when the Lady Rebels hosted their season home opener against Dunham Thursday night where the home team took a 36-24 loss.

The Lady Rebels were led by Brittany Schoen in the loss with her ten point contribution. She provided a spark for Riverside in the second quarter with a steal underneath the Dunham basket for a score to make it a six point game, but Dunham began to pull away soon afterward with open shots from long range.

Schoen is joined on the starting line-up by senior Kayla Perret, juniors Marci Millet and Sarah Levin along with sophomore Jessica Price. Off the bench are Heidi Garcich, Ashley Forstall and Stephanie LeBlanc.

Last year the Lady Rebs went 11-16 on the year. This season, the squad is still young, but has worked together as a unit. Coach Aaron Paladino is hoping that the pre-district schedule will help get his team set for the tough competition in district 10-2A.
