ESJ boys, SCC girls earn cross-country district titles

RESERVE – It was a crisp, mosquito-friendly outing at this year’s River Parish cross-country championship as St. Charles coach Matt Monica likely knew when he got the Gatorade treatment Thursday afternoon after his girl’s squad claimed the district title by taking the top three places in the early race to pull away with a team district title.

East St. John took the team win on the boys side

with 37 points and were led by Robert DeHoyas and James Carrol, who placed second and fourth respectively. Individually, Riverside’s Jesse LeBlanc led the pack with a winning time of 18:37 for the boys while Reyna Lubin finished first for the girls with a time of 22:37.

Justin Bernard led all Reserve Christian runners with a third place finish in the boys race while Jenny LeBlanc, sister of Jesse LeBlanc, finished fourth in the girl’s race as the Lady Rebels first finisher.
