Brown

HAHNVILLE-Grace G. Brown, 67,of Hahnville and a native of Killona, on Thursday September 21, 2006. She was the daughter of the late Norward Gerard and Zelma Neal and the stepdaughter of Racheal Gerard and wife of the late Minister Oliver Brown.

She is survived by five children, Troy, Cornell, and Marlon Brown and Gwentina Ingram and Treaniece Kenner. Sister of Shirley Harris, Warren and Charles Neal, Beverly Mosley, Benjamin and Thomas Nelson and the late Gwendolyn Neal.

Also survived by 15 grandchildren two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Service will be held at The historic Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hahnville on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time.

Burfict

RESERVE-Percy Burfict, Sr., 89, of Reserve, on Wednesday Sept. 20, 2006. He was the father of Joycelyn Thomas, Veronica and Leotha Lewis, Genevia Joseph, Bernadette Anderson, Rose Wlliams, Annie Mae Thomas, Percy Burfict Jr., and Patricia and Kennethe Burfict.

He is survived by sisters and borthers Olivia Carter, Ceola Gerard, Myrtle Reynard, and Joseph Burfict.

Also survived by 34 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife Geneva Burfict, parents Evelina and Nicholas Burfict and brother Leroy Burfict.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 772 Hwy 44, in Reserve.

Falgoust

PAULINA-Raymond Falgoust Jr., 89, of Paulina and a native of Garyville, on September 27, 2006. He was married to ruth Brignac Falgoust for 61 years and is father and father-in-law to Diane Crotty, Ronnie and Kitty Falgoust and Kathy and Jhan Lambert.

He is survived by siblings, Ida F. Barbier, Clarice Falgoust and Mercedese Simon and grandchildren Melissa Laiche, Chris Falgoust, Tracie Huget, Brad, Jeffery and Ricky Lambert.

Also survived by great-grandchildren Dustin and Darian Montelius, Donovan Laiche, Cody Huget, Mallorie and Trinity Lambert and one great-great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by parents Raymond Sr. and Clara Falgoust, and brother Durel (Red) Falgoust.

Services were held Friday September, 29, 2006 at Millet-Guidory Funeral Home from 9:30 t0 11:00 a.m.

Fiffie

VACHERIE-Joseph Paul Fiffie Jr., 48, resident of Vacherie and native of Wallace on September 22, 2006. He was the husband of Vanessa Butler Fiffie, devoted father of Tai Rene’ Fiffie and son of Jospeh P. Fiffie Sr. and Elouise Alexander Fiffie.

He is survived by twin JoAnn Fifffie Proctor and in-laws Lennard and Lois Butler and Pamela, Shanna, Darrell, Dwayne and Jermaine Butler.

Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces nephews d other relatives and friends.

Fiffie was employed as a supervisor at Kentwood Consolidated Containers.

He was a parishioner of St. Phillip Catholic Church in Vacherie and belonged to the Mayflower Benevolent Society and the Young Soldiers Society.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Phillip Catholic Church internment in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Edgard.

Guss

LAPLACE-Janice Marie Guss,46, of LaPlace, on Saturday Sept 23, 2006. She was the daughter of Octavia S. Guss and the late Herman Guss Jr.

She is survived by sister, Lysandra Johnson, brothers Terry and Rodney Guss, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Services were held Thursday Sept. 28. 2006 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville at 10:00 a.m.

Kass

LAPLACE-Rita Cancienne Landry Kass, 70, of LaPlace on Sept 26, 2006. She was the wife of Robert J.Kass, the late Tommy Cancienne by first marriage, and stepmother of Judi Fortney and Francis Kass.

She was the daughter of the late Ulysse Sr. and Inez Boudreaux Landry.

She is the sister of Rose Parker, Ulysse Landry Jr., James Leonard and the late Helen Dugas, Eunice Mura, Hilda Lotz, Carroll, Mervin Herman Sr. and Richard Landry Sr,
