VACHERIE-Jeanne Irene Becnel, 87, of Vacherie, on Saturday Sept. 16, 2006. She is survived by husband, Joseph B. Becnel and three sons Francis, Robert and Rene Becnel and daughter Molly B Levet.

Also survived by sister, Genevieive &#8220Genny” Abadie and 11 granchildrenand 7 great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Elucia Stein Becnel, brothers Olan, Curtis &#8220Frere”, Glenn, Roland, Mrk Michel, Remie and Johnny Becnel and grandson Jamin Becnel.

Services were held ept. 19, 2006 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie at 11:00 a.m.

HYMEL

BATON ROUGE-Marine Carmelite G. Hymel, 105, of Baton Rouge and a native of Union, on Sept. 14, 2006.

She was the mother of four sons, James Ignatious Hymel, Jr., Andrew Celesti Hymel, Louis John Hymel Sr., and Robert Francis Hymel Sr. and daughter-in-laws Katherine S. Hymel, Marie S. Hymel, Gloria B. Hymel, Ollie A. Hymel and Loretta Hymel.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Ignatious Hymel Sr., parents Joseph C. Gravois and Lisa &#8220Luda” Mollere, and son Raymond A.J. Hymel Sr.

Also preceded by daughters-in-law Evelyn F Hymel, Carmen Hymel, and Jacqueline B. Hymel, a granddaughter Maria Hymel; two brothers Louis and Leslie De Hasse and sister Maude De Hasse Martin.

Services were held on Sept. 18 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Convent.

COSTLEY

VACHERIE – Louisa M. Costley, 80, died Sept. 15. She was the wife of the late Robert Costley, Sr.

She is survived by children Lionel, Robert, Floyd, Andrew, and Alden Costley, and Genella Miller, Marsha Jones, Gail Williams and Stanley Dumas.

She is also survived by siblings Dorothy Evelina Dumas, Ruth Favorite, Grace Nailor, Theresa Alexander, James Dumas.

She was preceded in death by parents Manuel Marshall and Mary Dumas.

She was also preceded in death by children Odeae C. Oubre and Darryl Costley. She was also preceded in death by sisters Cecile Dumas and Rose Harris.

Services will be held Sept. 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Vacherie with interment in the church cemetery.
