RESERVE- Three juveniles are being held in St. James Juvenile Detention Center after confessing to the burglary of Galen Car Wash at 1176 LA 44 in Reserve. Three males aged 15, 15, and 14 are being held.
An officer responded to a call about a burglary in progress at 10:56 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, the officer saw six males at the rear of the business. As he approached the group all the subjects fled east from the area on foot.
“Police found a hammer and parts of a door lock on the ground, the owner of the business arrived later and confirmed that two selector panels and coin acceptors valued at $500 each were damaged,” said Mike Tregre, spokesperson for St. John Sheriff’s Office.
“A white t-shirt was also slung over a security camera outside the door,” he said.
After searching the area, officers located the three juveniles and returned them to the scene of the crime, where they were detained and later confessed.
