After squaring off to a 25-18 St. Charles win in a game at the SCC jamboree, Hahnville volleyball will get another crack at the Lady Comets when they play host to open the season schedule.

Both squads reached the quarter-finals of their respective classes last season, but graduation leaves each with a substantially different line-up. The Lady Comets are a young group this season with Gina Monica as the only senior on the roster. But with several starting diggers returning to the line-up, and defensive presence from sophomore Lauren Coniglio, SCC should be provided with plenty of opportunities.

For Hahnville, the loss of several senior starters from last year’s squad more or less makes room for returning seniors Trashan Glen, Nadia Cox and Danielle Douglas. With size and range, the Lady Tigers offer up plenty of offense.

The two squads are also scheduled to play each other again late in the season, an Oct. 26 meeting set for a week before the playoffs.
