LAPLACE- The owners of the old Burger King building on West Airline have been ordered to begin fixing the building before Sept. 7 or a court date will be set for a hearing for the building be demolished.
Adrienne Labat, director of the Planning and Zoning office, said “we have contacted the owner of the building and told him he must begin renovations on the building to keep it from being destroyed. The owner of the building has been asked for several months now to do something with the property.”
The property has been neglected in recent months.
“We have been telling the owner of the building to do something with it now for three or four months now,” Labat said. The owner of the property had asked for an extension of time to begin work on the property, but was refused because of inaction in recent months.
