Reserve lounge employee knocked out during robbery

RESERVE – A Reserve man wan knocked unconscious during a robbery of the 8-Ball Game Room in Reserve Tuesday.

The victim, a 50-year old employee of the game room, was preparing to close for the night. He approached two patrons and advised them to finish up their last game so he could close. As the man turned his back, one of the players took up a pool stick and smashed the stick over the man’s head.

The victim lost consciousness for approximately 10-15 minutes said Maj. Mike Tregre. &#8220When he awakened one of men was behind the counter taking an undisclosed amount of money from the register.”

&#8220When police arrived on the scene, they found a shattered pool stick on the floor,” Tregre said. &#8220 There was also a large knot on the base of the employee’s skull where he had been struck.”The man was transported to River Parishes Medical Center in LaPlace where he was treated and then released.
