PAULINA – George Joseph Bourgeois, 72,a native and resident of Paulina, died June 5. He was the husband of Ruby Waguespack Bourgeois.

He is survived by Wanda (David) Brock, Joy (George) Jacobs, Tammy (Paul) Copponex, Mark Bourgeois, Karl Bourgeois and Randy (Linda) Bourgeois.

He is also survived by siblings Gertrude (Claude) Waguespack, Mary Grace (Donald) Forsythe, Suzanne Brown, Vinzule Jr. (Debbie) Bourgeois, sisters-in-law Irene and Rose Bourgeois, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Vinzule Sr. and Grace Deslatte Bourgeois, daughter Lori Ann Bourgeois, siblings Nolan Bourgeois and Oneil Bourgeois, Raymond and Catherine and Mabel and Norman Lambert.

Services were held June 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in the church cemetery.

BURRELL

EDGARD – Corrine Yves &#8220Mother” Pierre Burrell, 87, a native and resident of Edgard, died June 5. She was the wife of the late Guy Burrell Sr.

She is survived by children Roenia (Alvin) Fiffie, Andrew, Grace, Perry Burrell, Sybil Burrell Joseph, Guy (Mary Ann) Burrell Jr., Allen (Mary) Burrell, Sonia Rubin, Faith (Clarence Jr.) Weber, Judy (Melvin) Frazier, Lloyd (Jackie) Burrell, Karen Burrell Lamotte, Karl (Gail) Burrell and Glenn (Karen) Burrell.

She is also survived by siblings Raymond (Marion) Pierre and Leon Pierre, godchildren Ardina Pierre Davis and Jo Ann Samuel Roudeze, 45 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Alton (Thelma) Burrell and siblings Roscoe Pierre Jr., Olga Borne, Rollins Pierre Sr., Bernice Borne, Louis Pierre, Lloyd Pierre and Lois Sterling.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment in the church cemetery.

The Baloney Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.

ELLIS

LAPLACE – Mary A. Ellis, 83, a native and resident of LaPlace, died June 6. She was the wife of the late Clarence Ellis.

She is survived by children Glendora Warren, Brenda Louper, Desiree Ellis, Edward Craighead, Harold, Allen and Larry Washington.

She is also survived by her stepdaughter Carolyn Ellis, 46 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Amelia &#8220Diggs” Artberry and children Rosemary Bolden, Donald Washington and Jeffrey Quiet.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at True Light Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment in Zion Travelers cemetery, Reserve.

Hobson Brown Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 8 a.m. at the church.

FAUCHEUX

VACHERIE – Cecilia Waguespack &#8220Suet” Faucheux, 93, a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Vacherie, died June 6. She was the wife of the late Emile &#8220Conoon” Faucheux Sr.

She is survived by children Geraldine (Ray) Labat, Norman (Cynthia) Faucheux and Emile Jr. (Lana) Faucheux.

She is also survived by siblings Bessie Haydel, Mary Grace Trosclair, Ethelyn (Emile) Trosclair, Anna Mae (Robert) Pavy, Mathilide Nugent, Honorine Becnel, Romana (Nolan) Veillion and Herman (Geraldine) Waguespack, sister-in-law June T. Waguespack, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rosney and Cecilia Schexnayder Waguespack, daughter-in-law Claudia Senft, brother Joseph Waguespack and brothers-in-law George Haydel, Jerry Trosclair, Walter Nugent and Roland Becnel.

Services were held June 9 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church mausoleum.

HUMPHRIES

NORCO – DeQuan Arren Humphries, 7, a native and resident of Norco, died June 1. He was the son of Letrionne Humphries and Christopher Robinson Sr.

He is survived by siblings DeQuaz and Gilbert Humphries, Keionte Smith, Christopher Robinson Jr., Gilbrea and Jilbrea Thomas, Jalesa Ducree and Layonne Spooner.

He is also survived by special father Junius Thomas and grandparents Veronica Humphries, Ricky McCray, Barbara and Johnny Irvin, Gregory Hill and Daniel Robinson Sr.

Services were held June 9 at First Baptist Church, Paradis, with interment in Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.

KARM

LAPLACE – Lester V. Karm, 86, a native of Michigan and a resident of LaPlace, died June 3.

He was the husband of Lucille Gaylord Karm.

He is survived by children Karen (James) Peterson, Judy (Scott) Ferguson and Sharon (Wayne) Rogers.

He is also survived by grandchildren Lucy Rogers, Scott Ferguson Jr. and Wayne Ferguson.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Lena Karm, grandson James Rogers and brother Charles Karm.

Services were held June 9 at First United Methodist Church, LaPlace, with a private interment.

WILLIAMS

GARYVILLE – Melvin &#8220Bozo” Williams, 75, a native and resident of Garyville, died June 3.

He is survived by two daughters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment in Marathon Cemetery, Garyville.
