MARRERO — A head-on collision in Marrero claimed the life of a 23-year-old Marrero woman on Sunday, her passenger a 29-year-old Luling man, who was left with moderate injuries.
Louisiana State Police Trooper Joseph Piglia, public information officer for Troop B, said the crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. on LA 45 Barataria Boulevard at Crestwood Drive.
The crash involved a 1992 Chevrolet 3500 pick-up truck, driven by Randy Guidry, 48, of Marrero, and a 1998 Chrysler Concorde, driven by Aimee Bosco, 23, of Marrero, according to Piglia.
“The Chevrolet pick-up was traveling against the flow of traffic, southbound in the northbound, left lane of LA 45 when it struck the Chrysler Concorde head on,” Piglia said. “The Chrysler was traveling with the flow of traffic in the northbound, left lane of LA 45.”
Bosco was transported to West Jefferson Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, due to her injuries. Her passenger, Erskine Webster Jr., of Luling, was transported to the Elmwood Trauma Center with moderate injuries.
“The driver of the Chevrolet pick-up was also transported to the Elmwood Trauma Center with moderate injuries,” Piglia said. “Driver impairment is believed to be a factor. At this time, charges are pending toxicology results. All occupants involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts.”
