AMA – Louisiana State Troopers investigated a single car fatal crash on River Road (LA 18) in St. Charles Parish on ———-.

Denise Hawkins, 30, of Avondale was traveling westbound on LA 18 at which time she failed to negotiate a curve in the road and lost control of her vehicle, according to State Trooper Brett Pike, the investigating officer.

Hawkins’ vehicle spun out of control, and entered a drainage ditch where it ended up on its side.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

It is still unknown if driver impairment was a factor in the crash and the accident is still under investigation.
