All-District voting for softball in 5-5A put eight locals on the team including sisters Lacey and Stacey Sutton, representing East St. John’s LadyCats.

Hahnville had the most selections on the team with five, which includes the district MVP, pitcher Chelsea Flores who compiled a perfect 7-0 record and batted .478 on the season. She was joined on the squad by Meghan Vial, Jessica Cancienne, Annie Minnich and LeLa Clowers on a district title team that made it to the regional round of the playoffs before being bounced by Chapelle in an 11th inning conclusion.

Destrehan had the next most representatives with four including Jillian Keegan who led all batters with a .533 hitting percentage. She was joined by pitcher Julie Beaugh, Kaci Wilson and Desiree Harvey, all of whom helped lead the Lady Wildcats to finish as district runners-up this year.

The Sutton sisters were the only selections on an ESJ softball squad that made the playoffs for the first time in a decade, and were joined on the team by their coach Amy Pitre who took home coach-of-the-year honors.
