RESERVE — A person identified as a male resident of Reserve died Thursday afternoon in a three-car accident on River Road.
The Louisiana State Police had not released the man’s name, as of press time Friday morning.
Maj. Michael Tregre, spokesman for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, said the call came in at 2:52 p.m. of the wreck.
The unidentified man had been driving west on River Road at a high rate of speed, suddenly swerve and strike an oncoming vehicle.
That vehicle was hit by a third traveling behind the second, reportedly occupied by LaToya Nicholson and her mother, Barbara Nicholason.
A child in one of the vehicles sustained a head injury and a total of three people were transported to River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace.
Both Nicholson women had been wearing seat belts, which protected them from serious injury.
Further information was unavailable at press time from law enforcement agencies.
