LULING – Serda Ann “Jelly” Collins, 61, a native of Edgard and a resident of Luling, died April 10.
She was the daughter of the late Myrtle Songy Triche and step-daughter of the late Howard J. Triche Sr.
She is survived by her daughter Nachela Ann Moll.
She is also survived by siblings Joval (Willie) Walker, Marilyn (Ronald) Diggs, Alfreda (Sylvester) Lundy, Cassandra (Johnny) Higgins and Fontaine Triche, grandchildren Toyelle Rickson and Timothy Moll, godchild Victoria Songy and friends Ilean Medley, Dorothy Brady, Lola Amos, Esmeralda Hamilton and Valeska McNeille.
She was preceded in death by siblings Melissa Clark, Virginia Williams and Howard Triche Jr. and grandparents Albertine Gabriel and George Songy Jr.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment in Pilgrim Cemetery, Ama.
Robottom Mortuary of Reserve is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
OUBRE
GARYVILLE – Joseph Gayle Oubre, 80, a native and resident of Garyville, died April 10.
He was the husband of the late Irene Simon Chapman.
He is survived by his step-children Allen Chapman and Shirley C. Millet.
He is also survived by siblings Calvin and George Oubre, Therese Ocmond, Rita Berthelot and Eunice LeBeau, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents August and Emilie Oubre and siblings Melvin, Raymond, August Jr. and Leroy Oubre.
Services were held April 13 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
POCHE
GRAMERCY – Idel “Sue Sue” Poche, 88, a native and resident of Gramercy, died April 12.
She was the daughter of the late Lisa Rose, and was reared by her cousin the late Viola Jones.
She is survived by her children Elaine Davis and Barbara Stewart.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three godchildren.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Greater Golden Grove Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Convent.
Hobson Brown Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.
UPTON
LAPLACE – Timothy M. Upton, 20, a native of Metairie and a resident of LaPlace, died April 8.
He was the son of Patric and Debria Upton.
He is survived by his brothers Thomas and Philip Upton.
He is also survived by grandparents Patricia Kersteter and Colleen Lewis, step-grandfather Ammon Kersteter.
He was preceded in death
by his grandfather George Lewis.
Services were held April 14 at First United Methodist Church, LaPlace, with interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie.
WHITE
HOUMA – Billy Rogers White Sr., 81, a native of Tylertown, MS and a resident of Houma, died April 11. He is survived by his children Billy Rogers White Jr., Glenda Jones, Jo Ellen Maurin, Darryl White and Denise Matherne. He is also survived by siblings Cecil White and Annie Pruitt and 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Services were held April 14 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
