LAPLACE — Councilman Steve Lee was elected Councilman-at-Large Div. B on Saturday, and is looking forward to the next step.
Lee said he is extremely pleased he was able to win and is very excited.
“I think it was a very clean and honest campaign by my two opponents,” Lee said. “In most elections, there is always controversy, but this was very clean.”
Lee, in his fourth term serving the St. John Parish Council, said that each of his opponents called him to congratulate him, and he expressed to both how he respected the fact that they kept the campaign clean and fair.
“I want to say thanks to all my supporters,” Lee said. “It is because of my family, friends and all the people that support me that I was able to win this. I am really glad.”
According to the St. John Parish Council Office, a date has not yet been set for an election to fill Lee’s seat as Councilman District VII, but it was said to be in the near future.
