GARYVILLE – Ethel Landry Badeaux, 84, a native of Convent and a resident of Garyville, died March 25.

She was the wife of the late Herman Badeaux.

She is survived by children Bruce Badeaux, Evelyn Schwab and Jean Simon.

She is also survived by siblings John Jr., Garland and Audrey Landry, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Sr. and Antoinette Landry and siblings Rudolph and A.J. Landry, Helen Ory and Clara Melancon.

Services were held April 3 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

DIGGS

LUTCHER – Debra Louise Diggs, 48, a native and resident of Lutcher, died March 27.

She was the wife of Stanley Diggs.

She is survived by her children Joshua, James and Natasha Diggs.

She is also survived by her parents Roselee Piley Cooper and Dow Green Jr., siblings Cassandra (Murray) Williams and Dow Green III, godchild Joseph Butler Jr., mother-in-law Rose Mary Diggs, brothers and sisters-in-law Lee Diggs, Carrie Mae Johnson, Clarence Jr., Jackie, Patricia, Wyomia and JoAnn Diggs, nieces and nephews Calebra Cooper Washington, Murray Williams Jr. and Chantell Williams.

She was preceded in death by her step-father Adam Cooper and father-in-law Clarence Diggs.

Services were held April 3 at Lutcher Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness, Paulina.

EDLER

LAPLACE – Carl A. Edler, 46, a native and resident of LaPlace, died March 31.

He was the father of Shallan Edler.

He is survived by siblings Jules Edler Jr. and Ruby Bourgeois.

He is also survived by his fiancée Cheryl Poirrier.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jules and Leona Mabile Edler.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace, with interment in St. John’s Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace.

Millet-Guidry Funeral Home of LaPlace is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 8 a.m. at the funeral home.

POLK

LULING – John Polk Sr., 75, a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Luling, died March 27.

He was the husband of Lena Pulizzano Polk.

He is survived by his children Johnny and Jim Polk

and Patricia Polk Brou.

He is also survived by a son-in-law and daughter-in-law Robert Brou and Aida Polk, grandchildren Jai Polk, Fernando Mattey, Robie Brou, Allison Brou and Phillip Brou and a brother Jimmy Polk.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Knox and Beluah Nobles Polk and siblings Margie Snow and Helen Estes, JW Polk and Charles Ray Polk.

Services will be held April 6 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling.

H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of John Polk to the Louisiana Archaeological Society, 9364 Rainford Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70810, to further study and discovery of prehistoric and historic Louisiana.
