LAPLACE – Unice “P-zy” Carter Sr., 81, a native and resident of LaPlace, died March 12. He was the husband of the late Earline Carter.
He is survived by his children Mary Ann, Alvin, Cleveland, Linda, Larry and Michael Carter and Lucian Patterson.
He is also survived by two step-children Donald and Gary London, 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Elnora Carter.
Services were held March 17 at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Reserve.
HILAIRE
EDGARD – Warren Lawrence Hilaire Sr., 83, a native and resident of Edgard, died March 11. He was the husband of Ursula M. Allen Hilaire.
He is survived by his children Warren Hilaire Jr., Ursula H. Johnson, Veronica Hilaire, JoAnn H. Vinnett and Ricky J. Hilaire.
He is also survived by siblings Joseph Hilaire Sr., Antoinette Tanner, Edith Meadous, Amelia Roussell, Betty Linton, Lucille Adams, Evelyn Barre and Juanita Green, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Amelia Morris and Ignace Hilaire.
Services were held March 17 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment in the church mausoleum, Edgard.
JOHNSON
RESERVE – Shelia “Sweet Black” Johnson, 50, a native and resident of Reserve. She was the wife of Wilbert Johnson.
She is survived by her children Elzina Jenkins and Deabreon A. Lewis.
She is also survived by siblings Arobee Bates, Ethel Trijillio, Clarence Jenkins Jr. and Romalice Johnson, four godchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Jenkins Sr. and Elzina Johnson.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Reserve.

LEWIS
KILLONA – Johnny Lewis Jr., 52, a native and resident of Killona, died March 11. He was the son of Julia Lewis and the late Johnny Lewis Sr.
He is survived by siblings Michael A. Williams, Patricia L. (James) Downing, Gilbert Lewis, Navada L. (Rickie) Borne, Nathan (Foncella) and David Lewis.
He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Services were held March 17 at Canaan Baptist Church, Killona, with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville.
PATTERSON
RESERVE – Joann Patterson, 48, a native and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 22. She was the wife of Gerald Patterson Sr.
She is survived by her children Patricia Ann, Michelle Denise and Gerald Patterson Jr.
She is also survived by siblings Earl, Herman, Sherri, Karl, Raymond, Donald and Terri Jackson and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Leola (Ellis) Jackson.
Services were held March 1 at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, with interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lyons.
ROUSSEVE
VACHERIE – Ashley Elizabeth Rousseve, 11, a native and resident of Vacherie, died March 12. She was the daughter of Helmuth Vital Rousseve III and Elizabeth Ann Grow Rousseve.
She is survived by her brother Helmuth IV.
She is also survived by grandparents Florida Mae Grow, Elizabeth Rousseve, Priscilla Rousseve and Helmuth “Duck” Rousseve, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, caretakers and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather John “Dad” Grow.
Ashley was a loving and affectionate child. She required at least 500 kisses and hugs a day, and love, as much as food for survival. She was a little affection magnet.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery.
The Baloney Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. and Recitation of Rosary at 9 a.m. at the church.
ROSS
KILLONA – Amelia Ross, 77, a native and resident of Killona, died March 10. She was the daughter of the late Lebanzer Wilson and Albert Ross.
She is survived by her children Aleshia J. Smith, Warrene G. Mack, Wendell P. Ross Sr. and Andrea M. Ross.
She is also survived by her brother Wilbert Ross Sr., 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Canaan Baptist Church, Killona, wit interment in Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery, Boutte.

WILLIAMS
GRAMERCY – Vernita Williams, 52, a native of Gramercy and a resident of Clarksville, TN, died March 14.
She was the daughter of Octave Bardell and the late Velma Williams.
She is survived by her daughter Tiki Joseph.
She is also survived by her siblings Veronica Johnson, Marva Franklin, Shelia, Charles, Eldred, Alvin, Hubert, Heria, Herman and Terry Williams, two grandchildren, son-in-law Bruce Joseph and friend Tommy Dodson.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at New Zion Full Gospel Church, Gramercy, with interment in CFBA Cemetery, Paulina.
