RESERVE — The Reserve Christian Eagles won two this week, finishing their regular season at home Tuesday against Grand Isle with a 107-56 victory and starting their playoff stint in the same fashion with a victory against the Louisiana School of the Deaf on Thursday also at home.

Tuesday night was Senior Night for the Eagles as coach Byrd started the senior boys to honor their last regular season game as Eagles. RCS started off early taking a 23-10 lead to start the second quarter.

Eagles superstar Tweety Carter checked in off the bench in the second wasting no time hitting the first three of the quarter on the way to his 21 points. Eagles senior forward Justin Porter had a big night leading all scorers with 30 points and a thunderous two- handed slam off the alley-oop pass from Kevin &#8220Beau” Branch to end the half at 55-22.

The second half was more of the same from the Eagles as they outscored the Trojans 34-15 in the third quarter before RCS Coach Timmy Byrd put his seniors back in to start the fourth.

Eagles Senior guard and crowd

favorite Jared Johnson nailed a three pointer late in the game to send the crowd into a frenzy.

Coach Byrd was all smiles watching his seniors play their final regular season game.

&#8220We had a good night, we had a fun night,” Byrd said. &#8220Justin Porter had a big night. Jared Johnson got a chance to play. It was a fun outing for our kids senior night.”

On Thursday the Eagles kicked off the first round of the Class C State Basketball Playoffs with an 88-54 win against Louisiana School of the Deaf.

The Eagles started slowly actually trailing early in the first until injured guard Eddrin McCain came off the bench sparking a run that led to a 23-9 lead to end the first. Both Beau Branch and Tino Brozos scored 12 each for the Eagles but Miguel Panigagaa for the Louisiana School of the Deaf led all scorers with 32 points in the losing effort.

Reserve will face the winner of the Sicily Island/ Jehovah Jireh game.
