LAPLACE– SCC missed an opportunity to take a lead in 10-2A when they hosted top-ranked district foe St. James.

The Lady Comets faced the Lady Wildcats in the early ga where the St. Charles squad struggled early on and fell behind by 35 points by the end of three quarters. Ariel Mitchell led the Lady Wildcats with 20 points in the 77-45 win while Leandra Priestly got 15. Brooke Becker led the Lady Comets in the effort with 14 while Michelle Marzoni added 10.

The later game matched-up the top two teams in district 10-2A. The Wildcats held a steady, but not insurmountable lead, throughout the game. After going down by 11 points in the third quarter, the Comets made a push in the fourth quarter with some pressure defense, but they couldn’t keep St. James from getting off their passes and finding the open man. St. James Terry Isom closed out scoring with a lay-up to close out scoring 57-43. SCC’s Mike Troglen and Jonathan Bonura led all scorers with 17.

St. Charles returns to action this week, hosting John Curtis Tuesday.
