GRAMERCY – Mignonne Ann Cazentre, 59, a native of Gramercy and a resident of New Orleans, died Jan. 6.
She was the daughter of the late Henri Hubert and Yolande Dicharry Cazentre.
She is survived by her siblings Myree Cazentre and H. Hubert Cazentre Jr.
Services were held Jan. 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Paulina.
ENGLAND
GARYVILLE – Robert “Bob” England Sr., 57, a native of Garyville and a resident of New Orleans, died Aug. 29.
He is survived by his children Bobby and Franlisa Williams, London and Robert England and Fahaun Lyons.
He is also survived by his siblings Philoman Johnson, Albertha Cooler, Ora Mae Sims, Joyce Jones and Walter England, grandchildren Jasmine, Bobby, Daijuan, Davaughn, Charles and Charkobe Williams and Jaydon Lewis, sons-in-law Charles Williams and Jamal Lewis, daughter-in-law Danielle Jordan and companion Carolyn Atkins.
Services were held Jan. 9 at Zion Cemetery, Garyville.
GROSS
EDGARD – Julia “Momma Julia” Farnell Gross, 82, a native and resident of Edgard, died Jan. 3.
She was the wife of the late George Gross.
She is survived by her children Rogers (Cheryl) Gross, Revia (Dorrie) Watkins and Heston (Lynell) Gross.
She is also survived by a godchild Dorrie Watkins Jr., nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Crozlia Jasmine Farnell and siblings John Farnell, Ella F. Wallace, Cleveland, Lucien and August Farnell.
Services were held Jan. 7 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment in the church cemetery.
HEBERT
LULING – Hilda Theresa Guidroz Hebert, 104, a native of Mathews and a resident of New Orleans, Marrero and Luling, died Dec. 31.
She was the wife of the late Laurent “Lawrence” Hebert Sr.
She is survived by her grandchildren John Hebert, Denise Bruce, Michelle Dufrene, James Hebert and Suzette Hebert.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Alicia, Joseph and Toni Hebert, Stephanie and Christin Hebert, Emily and Kelly Bruce, Seth and Ethan Dufrene and Lauren Hebert and great great-grandchildren Taylor Hebert and Anthony Hearod.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Estelle Guidroz, siblings Berthe Guidroz, Naomi Huff, Julie Guidroz, Alphonse Guidroz, Thomas Guidroz, Luc Guidroz, Rita Legendre and Harold Guidroz and her son Lawrence “Larry” Hebert Jr.
Services were held Jan. 4 at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, with interment in the church cemetery.
MCRAE
LAPLACE – Dorothy Allen McRae, 82, a native of Mississippi and a resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 8.
She was the wife of the late John B. McRae.
She is survived by her children Sharon (Louis) Maurin and Carol (Gary) Landry.
She is also survived by her brother Herbert Allen, grandchildren Lauren Trahan, Susan Horton, Amber Katz, Matthew and Adam Landry and great-grandchild Janssen Trahan.
She was preceded in death by her sister Sue Smith.
Services will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Greendale Cemetery, Roxie, MS.
Millet-Guidry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
WILLIAMS
AMA – Bernie “Kid” Williams, 100, a native of Patterson and a resident of Ama and New Orleans, died Jan. 5.
He was the husband of the later Wilma Benarby Williams.
He is survived by his children Philomene (Isiah Sr.) Franklin and Virgil (Lena) Williams.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Virgie Alexander, Tanya Ross, Wilma Webb, Debra Morris, Bonnie White, Lawrence Geason Jr., Fabian Geason, Karen Dudley and Sharon Simpkins, friend Ruth Jackson, 31 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Williams, grandson Sgt. Taft Williams, six sisters, three brothers and a son-in-law Lawrence Geason Sr.
Services were held Jan. 9 at Robottom Mortuary, Hahnville, with interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Ama.
