LAPLACE – A LaPlace resident was arrested recently after soliciting inappropriate acts online to an undercover officer, thinking it was a minor.
St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Christy Murden received information that 22-year old Brad David Victor Gros of 604 Esplanade St. was soliciting “inappropriate acts” to a minor, according to Maj. Mike Tregre, spokesman for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“An operation was conducted, where Gros was contacted through a chat-room online,” Tregre said. “Gros thought he was chatting with a minor, but it was one of our officers. He began soliciting inappropriate acts and a meeting was supposed to take place.”
Tregre said a warrant was issued for Gros’s arrest, and to search information on his computer. Gros was arrested Dec. 22, and placed on a $100,000 bond set by Judge Sterling Snowdy.
The computer was taken for further examination, with additional charges possible, pending results found.
