St. Charles schools earn quality assurance award

HOUSTON — The District Accreditation Quality Achievement Award was presented to the St. Charles Parish Public School System at the 2005 SACS CASI Annual Conference on Dec. 12 in Houston.

The Council on Accreditation and School Improvement of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools conducted a Quality Assurance Review on January 23-26, 2005 and determined that the St. Charles Parish School System met the standards for a &#8220Quality School System.”

&#8220St. Charles Parish engages in a continuous systemic process of educational improvement,” said Mark Elgart, CEO, SACS CASI.

&#8220It has effective and efficient quality assurance controls throughout the system and its schools.”

This achievement recognizes the quality of education afforded the students in the St. Charles Parish Public School System through the leadership of the School Board and superintendent, the dedication and services of the professional staff and the support of our community stakeholders.

Superintendent Dr. Rodney Lafon, Board Members Mary Bergeron, president, Jay Robichaux, vice-president, Wayne Roussel and Clarence &#8220Sonny” Savoie, were recognized and accepted a plaque and banner on behalf of the system.
