The Bush-Clinton Fund has $100 million to distribute for Hurricane Katrina and Rita disaster recovery efforts.
Former President Bill Clinton traveled to Louisiana and met with local officials in Algiers, near New Orleans on Oct. 4.
There, he met with numerous parish officials from south Louisiana and mayors from the greater New Orleans area to discuss ideas of how this money could best be used.
In this informal discussion, problems were brought to light and questions were asked regarding the plight of recovery.
Former President Clinton responded to the Mayors, Parish Presidents and Parish Officials with many ideas.
Parish Officials attending the meeting included Police Jury Association Executive Director, Crowley, and Police Jury Executive Board Members Elton Aubert, St. James serving as PJAL 3rd Vice President, New Orleans Councilmember Cynthia Willard-Lewis, and Plaquemines Parish President Benny Rousselle.
Other members included St. John Parish President Nickie Monica, St. Charles Parish President Albert Laque, and New Orleans Councilmembers Renee Pratt and Jackie Clarkson.
