LAPLACE — A 39-year-old, LaPlace resident, was arrested on Sept. 27 for molestation of an 8-year-old girl.

According to Public Information Officer Maj. Mike Tregre with St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office the complaint was made before Hurricane Katrina.

“The mother came home one day and all the doors were locked,” he said.

“She though something was suspicious and when she finally got into the house her daughter told her that her mother’s live-in boyfriend had touched her inappropriately.”

After the complaint and due to the statement, he was arrested and booked with a $40,000 bond set by Judge Madeline Jasmine.
