KILLONA – Yvonne P. Davis, 91, a native and resident of Killona, died Sept. 10. She was the wife of the late Rev. Dr. John B. Davis Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Evelyn Funches.

She is also survived by her siblings Florence P. Bernette, Gilliaum Jr., Preston and Alvin Pierre, sister-in-laws Annie Mae and Elnora Pierre, five grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Katherine and Gilliaum Pierre.

Services were held Sept. 16 at the Children of Israel Baptist Church, Killona, with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft.

DORSEY

CONVENT – Sue Malinda Dorsey, 75, a native and resident of Convent, died Sept. 9. She was the mother of Horace Dorsey.

She is survived by her siblings Leola Picou, Barbara Adams, Odile Ester, Louise Dumas, Florence Ainey, Mickey Melancon, Beverly Allen and Joseph Dumas.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Convent, with interment in the church cemetery.

Hobson Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

GRAHAM

LAPLACE – Aredean Ezra Graham IV of LaPlace, was stillborn to his parents Aredean Ezra Graham III and Dominique Anderson on Sept. 11.

He is survived by his grandparents Nilan Sr. and Lisa W. Anderson and Aredean Jr. and Letitia Graham.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Shondrika, Dominique, Aaliyah and Nilan Anderson, Jackelle, Anthony and Nekeisha Graham, great-grandparents Mary Ann Branch, Clay Wilkins, Lawrence Anderson Sr. and Ida Coleman and great great-grandparents Louis Anderson Sr., Mildred Narcisse, Rose and Aredean Ezra Graham Sr. and Bustania Shepard.

Services were held at Providence Cemetery.

GRICE

VACHERIE – Mildred “Ivory Mae” Grice, , a native and resident of Vacherie, died Sept. 11.

She was the wife of Joseph Grice Sr.

She is survived by her children Joseph (Eranda) Grice and Joycie (Johnny) Wilson.

She is also survived by her grandson Johnny Wilson Jr., three sisters, five brothers and two aunts.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Paulina, with interment in First Baptist Cemetery, Vacherie.

The Baloney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation at Kingdom Hall begins at 9 a.m.

HOWARD

CONVENT – Frances Simmons Howard, 83, a native and resident of Convent, died Sept. 4.

She was the wife of the late Joe Howard Sr.

She is survived by her children Pastor Joe (Edith) Howard Jr. and Minister Charles (Rosalyn) Howard.

She is also survived by her siblings Helen Simmons, Alma Hayes, Gloria Fields and Preston Joseph Jr., sister-in-laws Verlina Simmons, Lillie Mae Davis and Mary Louise Green, 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and 13 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Louisa Young Simmons, siblings Joseph, Mack, Nathaniel, Mose, Melvin, Vinney, Dolores, Emelda, Sophia and Myrtle and a niece Doris Scott.

Services were held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Convent, with interment in the church cemetery.

RAYFIELD

GARYVILLE – Gus “Tunnie” Rayfield Jr., 50, a native and a resident of Garyville.

He was the son of the late Georgeanna and Gus Rayfield Sr.

He is survived by his brother Tyrone Thompkins, uncle Clarence Brown Sr., aunt Josie Brown and two godchildren Olivia Anderson and Charles Wilkins.

He is also survived by his companion Brenda Anderson and stepchildren Joseph, Willie, Tery Lynn Randall, Selina Anderson, Walanda Anderson and Kenneth Anderson.

He was preceded in death by John and Mildred Thompkins, whom he was raised by.

Services were held Sept. 14 at the Hobson Brown Funeral Home, Garyville, with interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery, Reserve.
