LAPLACE – Alton Placide, 35, of Reserve, is to appear for trial this summer for his arrest on Oct. 2, 2003

He is charged with 46 counts of business burglaries after he was indicted by the St. John Parish Grand Jury.

Placide’s hearing for a change in venue was originally set for May 28, but the hearing has been moved to June 27, according to Jennifer Cluck, attorney general assistant public information officer.

Placide allegedly went on an 18-month burglary spree in 2001 and 2002 affecting LaPlace and Reserve area businesses.

Placide’s bond was originally held in custody under a $560,000 bond by Judicial District Judge J. Sterling Snowdy in 2004, but he posted bond and was released
