St. John Warriors compete in National Tournament

The St. John Warriors 10-year-old All-Stars recently completed their successful basketball tournament with a fifth-place finish in the national tournament. The 10-year-old Warriors won the district tournament to become three-time district champions.

After advancing to the Regional finals, the Warriors fell short to the Mandeville All-Stars 43-45. After the Regional finals, the Warriors advanced to the National Championship. In the first round of the national tournament, the Warriors defeated Lebanon, Pennsylvania, 52-18. The next round, the warriors defeated a team from Dallas, Texas, 54-18. The following game, the Warriors beat Larose, La., by the score of 56-22. The Warriors next ran into the eventual National Champions from New Orleans, the Jazz and were defeated, 42-32.

The Warriors then bounced back from elimination with a 42-38 victory, but then were eliminated by Terrebone, 56-44. The Warriors had a great season overall with an 18-3 record. The Warriors would like to thank everyone who helped support them.
