RESERVE-The end of their high school careers may not have ended the way that they wanted to in only the second round of the state playoffs, but Trenese and Trenell Smith of Reserve Christian School did pick up some individual honors recently.

The duo was named to the Class B All-State squad by the Louisiana Sportswriters’ Association.

Trenell Smith was named a member of the first-team All-State squad while her twin sister Trenese took home honors on the honorable mention squad.

Both players concluded fabulous careers at Reserve Christian.

Dominating opponents in Class B and throughout the district year, the twins were the top players on Kevin Branch’s run-and-shoot, up-tempo offensive style that led them to the Sweet 16 in 2004.

“These are two great girls,” Branch said of the Smith twins. “They give 100-percent effort every time out there and wherever they go and play college basketball, any coach will be lucky to have them on their team because they work hard.”
