Luling – Agnes Dufresne Barre, 94, a resident of Luling, died March 19.
She was the wife of the late Odell Joseph Barre and mother and mother-in-law of Beverly Vial, Barbara and Archie Mollere, Jerry and Shirly Barre and Dawn and Benjamin Tisdale.
She is survived by her sisters Georgette Spoonts and Ethel Dugresne and preceded in death by Claude and Amilcar Dufresne, Cecile Fauchceaux, Anne Dennis, and Philomene Falgoust.
She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great-grandchildren.
Services were March 22 at St. Anthony of Padua church, with interment at the St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
Bergeron
Des Allemands – Richard “Ricky” Bergeron, Jr., 30, a native of Marrero and resident of Des Allemands, died March 16. He was the son of Richard “Dickie”, SR. And Susan B. Bergeron.
He is survived by his son Benjamin Lee Joseph Bergeron and sister Julie Bergeron Hartman.
He is also survived by his grandmother Isabelle Cavalier Lunk and preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur Bergeron, Joseph Lunk, Leonce and Mary Bladsacker and uncle Robert “Bobby” Bergeron, SR.
Services and internment were held March 20 and 21 at the St. Gertrude Catholic church, Des Allemands.
Blackwell
Luling – Linda Gayle Blackwell, 60, born in Taunton, Mass., and resided in Luling, died March 10. She was the daughter of Mary Louise Blackwell.
She is survived by her brother Larry Blackwell and sister Kim Blackwell.
She was the Luling Living Center Carnival Queen of 2000 and a member of Friends of St. Charles Parish Hospital.
Services were held March 21 at West St. Charles Baptist Church, Boutte with a private internment.
Dominique
Des Allemands – Carla Ann Dominique, 37, a native of Lockport and resident Des Allemands, died March 15. She was the daughter of Felix and Elaine LeBlanc Dominique.
She is survived by her 2 sons Rodney Dufrene and Benjamin Bergeron and her brother Chad Dominique.
She was preceded in death by her brother Troy Dominique.
Services were held March 22 at Holy Savior Catholic church, Lockport, with internment.
Eugene
Mt. Airy – Edna Mae “Ella Mary” Rogers Eugene, 54, a native and resident of Mt. Airy, died March 17.
She was the wife of Paul Eugene, daughter of the late Florida Rogers Johnson and step-daughter of the late Mitchell Johnson.
She is survived by her aunt Shirley Robinson Ross and her uncles Phillp Rogers Jr. and Alvin Jones.
Services are held today at the New St. John Missionary Baptist church, 287 Daffodil St., Mt. Airy at 11 a.m. with internment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Reserve.
Visitation begins at the church after 9 a.m.
The Baloney Funeral Home, 399 Earl Baloney Dr. Garyville, is in charge of arrangements.
Petersen
LaPlace – Virginia Burleigh Peterson, a resident of LaPlace, died March 20.
She was the wife of the late Harlev E. Peterson by first marriage and Preston Englert by second. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Louise Burleigh.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Wagner and Laura Fagot.
She is also survived by 5 grandsons.
Services were held March 21 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, Metairie with internment at the All Saints Mausoleum.
St. Martin
LaPlace – Lynette Marie St. Martin, a native of LaPlace and resident of New Orleans, died March 18.
She was the daughter of the late Peter and Uzette St. Martin.
She is survived by her sisters Leah Souller, Marie Richhart, Delphine Flynn, and brothers Gerard and Charles St. Martin.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Peter Jr. and Roland St. Martin.
Services were held March 20 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace with internment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
Sevin
DES ALLEMANDS – Earl Joseph Sevin Sr., a resident of Des Allemands, died March 21. He was the husband of Lisa Douglas Sevin.
He is survived by his children Earl J. Sevin Jr., Michael Sevin, Brent M. Douglas, Travis J. Douglas, Ruth Sevin Johnson, and Aurita Sevin Ponsaa.
He is also survived by 1 brother and sister , 2 grandchildren, and preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lily Sevin.
Services are held noon today at the St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands with internment at the Lakelawn Cemetery.
