AMBROSE

ST. JAMES – Florestine Mayho Ambrose, 86, a native and resident of St. James, died March 3. She was the wife of the late Joseph Ambrose Sr., and mother of Jerralyn Ambrose-Bazile, Joyce Hazelwood, Janice Roussell, James, Jules Sr., Jerome Sr., Joshua, Jessie, John, Jacob, Jeffery, and the late Louise and Joseph Ambrose Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Eugene and Loella Watson Mayho, and sister of Ernestine Jackson, and the late Rose Green, Myrtle Treaudo, gladys Marshall, Charles, Eugene Mayho Jr. and Joseph Weber.

She is also survived by 40 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Services were March 11 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church mausoleum.

ANTHONY

RESERVE – Dan Anthony, 49, a native and resident of LaPlace, died March 7. He was the father of Danielle Fox and Quiana Jones.

He was also the son of the late Thomas Sr., and Thelma Fleming Anthony, and brother of Barbara, Robert, and the late Thomas “Pappy” Anthony Jr.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

Services were March 11 in the chapel of Robottom Mortuary, Reserve, with interment at Bethlehem Cemetery.

CAMBRE

RESERVE – Denise Elizabeth Songy Cambre, 90, a long time resident of Reserve, died March 10. She was the wife of the late Francois Cambre Jr., and mother of Mary Ann Madere, Arleen Klaus, Francois III, Joseph, Paul and Ralph Cambre.

She was also the daughter of the late Justin and Palmyre Songy, and sister of Doris Weber, and the late Agnes, May, Pauline, Clarisse and Edmond Songy.

She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 1:30 p.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 12:30 p.m.

LaBRANCHE

RESERVE – Roland Antoine LaBranche Sr., 77, a native of LaPlace and resident of Reserve for 26 years, died March 9. He was the husband of the late Agnes Guedry LaBranche, and father of Roland Jr., Patricia Millet, AnnetteAyme, Timmy LaBranche, and the late JoAnn Edler.

He was also the son of the late Louis and Zulma Catoire LaBranche Sr., and brother of Myrtle Laiche, Mildred Grisoli, Murphy LaBranche, and the late Dorothy Vicknair, Ethel Landeche and Louis LaBranche Jr.

He is also survived by 15 grandchilden and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

MARTIN

PAULINA – Jerrel “Joe” Martin, 73, a native and resident of Paulina, died March 7. He was the husband of 51 years of Ethel Brignac Martin and father of Tina Bourgeois, Fran Laiche, Jerry, Tim and Troy Martin.

He was also the son of the late Louis and Claudia Martin, and brother of mae Poche, Theresa Roussel, and the late Ruth Forsyth, Roland, Marc, Patrick “Tobey,” and Alvin “Tat” Martin.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, and member of VFW Post 5852 and American Sugar Cane League. He was also a past member of First American Bank’s board of directors and a sugarcane farmer for 59 years.

Services were March 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.
