East. St. John falls to Fontainbleau, 5-1, travels to Ponchatoula Tournament

RESERVE-With the start of district play rapidly approaching, the East St. John Wildcats dropped a game on the road Tuesday to Fontainbleau 5-1.

The loss drops the Wildcats to 2-3 on the season heading into the Ponchatoula Tournament this weekend.

Starting their season winning two out of their first three ball games, the Wildcats have struggled as of late losing their last two to St. Charles and Fontainbleau.

The Wildcats started their season with a very impressive 12-2 victory over De La Salle before suffering a 14-1 loss against area rival Riverside.

The Wildcats recovered a game later to defeat Ridgewood 4-2 before losing a close game against St. Charles Catholic in a tournament at Comet Field 4-3.

Taking part in the Ponchatoula Tournament this weekend, the Wildcats return home on March 8th when they welcome Lutcher to East St. John at 3:30.

Another tournament awaits the Wildcats a week later as they travel to Bonnabel to take part in the annual Bonnabel baseball tournament.

March 16th is the opening district game for the Wildcats against Central Lafourche.
