CHARLES

ST. ROSE – Warence Garvy “Sonny Boy” Charles, 82, a native of St. Rose and resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 13. He was the husband of Susie Vinnett Charles and father of Mallory Allen, Theophilus Charles, and the late Ina Clair Baker, Olevia Charles and Anita Hooker.

He was also the son of the late Olevia Rousseau and Mike Charles, and brother of Lucille Smith, Doris Marbley, Edgar and Herman Charles, and the late Madeline Franklin, Wilfred, Alvin and Leonce Charles.

He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II veteran and member of Aaron Lodge No. 66, St. Rose.

Services were Feb. 19 at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.

FAVORITE

LUTCHER – Augustine Garrison “Tee” Favorite, 75, a resident of St. James Parish, died Feb. 15. She was the wife of the late Herbert Favorite, and mother of Joyce Anderson, Audrey Jackson, Katherine Williams and Herbert Favorite Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Rutherford and Louisa Treaudo Garrison, and sister of Ethel Clay, and the late Hazel Aubert.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are Feb. 24 at 11 a.m., at King David Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher. Visitation starts Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

KINLER

HAHNVILLE – Stanley Lucien Kinler, 68, a native of Hahnville and resident of Orleans Parish for 35 years, died Feb. 16. He was the son of the late W.J. Sr. And Florence Baudoin Kinler, and brother of Floyd Kinler, and the late W.J. Jr., Benedict, Raymond and Malcolm Kinler.

Services were Feb. 18 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery.

PAISANT

LAPLACE – Robert J. .Paisant, 61, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for 36 years, died Feb. 17. He was the husband of Joan G. Paisant and father of Pamela Larson.

He was also the son of Georgiana B. Paisant, and the late Warren Paisant, and brother of Ronald, Warren Jr., Donald and Patricia Paisant.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 22 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace, with private interment.

TORRES

VACHERIE – Vivian Brignac Torres, 88, a native of St. James and resident of Vacherie, died Feb. 21. She was the wife of the late Elton Torres, and mother of Judith Delatte, Sidney, Michael and Gerald Torres.

She was also the daughter of the late Pierre and Leontine Montz Brignac, and sister of the late Eliska Pierce, Edith Engleran, Eula LeBlanc, Emma Oubre, Etta Brignac, Pearl Hagedorn and Ewell Torres.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

WISHOM

GARYVILLE – Leona A. Wishom, 71, a native and resident of Garyville, died Feb. 18. She was the wife of Johnny Wishom Sr., and mother of Jajaun Swafford, Johnny Jr., Jacqueline and Jeryl Wishom.

She was also the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth K. Anderson, and sister of Gladys Placide, and the late Edna Jackson, Isiah Talfair, Arthur, Clarence and Robert Anderson.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at Mt. Zion No. 1 Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at Marathon Cemetery, Garyville.
