Chamber sets tax seminar

LAPLACE – A two-hour seminar on taxation issues, sponsored by the River Region Chamber of Commerce Business Development Committee, is set Jan. 19 in LaPlace.

The seminar will be 6-8 p.m., and held at the Chamber office at 425 W. Airline Highway, Suite D. The featured speakers include the following:

Tax attorney Jesse Waguespack will speak on tax consequences of partnerships and Subchapter S Corporation. Nolan Schexnayder of Schexnayder Financial Group will speak on Changes in Tax Laws for 2004, New Tax Act and Retirement Contribution Limits. Nathan Stein CPA will speak on Sales Tax, How they affect Small Business, Property Tax and Occupational Licenses.

The seminar is free to Chamber members and $10 for non-members. Early registration is urged, as seating is limited.
