CAPDEBOSCQ

LAPLACE – Janice Lassere Capdeboscq, 73, a native of White Castle and resident of LaPlace for 39 years, died Dec. 24. She was the wife of John Capdeboscq and mother of Lisa Landeche, John, Karen, Kerry and Geralyn Capdeboscq.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren.

Private services were Dec. 28 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace.

FERSON

LULING – David A. Ferson Jr., a resident of Luling, died Dec. 27. He was the husband of the late Verta Faye Smith Ferson, and father of Shirley Gould, Gloria Baudouin and David Ferson III.

He was also the son of the late David Sr., and Mary Hara Ferson, and brother of Annabelle Labishak, William and Russell Ferson, and the late Ruth Hooker and James Ferson.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 31 at First Baptist Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

JOHNSON

GARYVILLE – Donald “Ducky” Johnson, 49, a native of Garyville and resident of Harvey, died Dec. 9. He was the son of the late Albert and Selena Johnson, and brother of Annette Bradley, Glenda, Selena, Gregory, Michael, Harold, Eric, Kenneth, Elston and Lionel Johnson.

Services were Dec. 29 in the chapel of Baloney Funeral Home, Garyville, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

JOSEPH

NEW ORLEANS – Agnes Constance Joseph, a native of Welcome and resident of New Orleans, died Dec. 25. She was the wife of the late Lucien Joseph, and mother of the late Evelyn Andry.

She was also the daughter of the late Joseph Constance and Regina Tassin.

She is survived by one grandchild, two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 30 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, New Orleans, witn interment at St. James Catholic Cemetery, St. James.

JOSEPH

VACHERIE – Elmer “Footut” Moore Joseph, 83, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 26. She was the wife of the late Thomas Joseph Sr., and mother of Gail Noel, Bertha Cage, Frank, Hubert, Thomas, Jolies, Wilton, and the late Richard Joseph.

She was also the sister of the late Virginia Lewis, Louise Lyons, Thelma Moore and Erdie Williams.

She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were Dec. 31 at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

LANDRY

LAPLACE – Delores Schexnayder Landry, 67, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 25. She was the wife by first marriage of the late Nemoure Millet Jr., and by second marriage of Percy Landry and mother of Lisa Poncia, Robert, Donnie, Ronnie, Richard and Burton Millet.

She was also the daughter of the late Alfred and Malena LaBranche, and sister of Brenda Longaker, Gail Falterman, Delbert and the late James Schexnayder.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 28 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

MILLET

LAPLACE – Larry P. Millet, 86, a native of Lions, former resident of Reserve and resident of Baton Rouge for 13 years, died Dec. 27. He was the husband by first marriage of the late Dorothy Madere Millet and by second marriage of Emma Pourciau Millet, father of Lillian Carter and stepfather of Alma Morroy and A.J. Pourciau Jr.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren.

Services were Dec. 30 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

OUBRE

RESERVE – Josephine Haydel Oubre, 88, a native of Darrow and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 28. She was the wife of the late Linden “Bilbo” Oubre Sr., and mother of Cheryl Triche, Mary Ann Becnel and Linden Oubre Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Dixon Sr., and Madeline Kramer Haydel, and sister of Agatha Dempster, Philomene Babin, and the late Adele Haydel, Anita Clement, Marie Boudreaux, Lillian Chartain, Joseph, Dixon Jr., Valcour, Winton, Agnes, Cornelia and Jean Haydel.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Services were Dec. 30 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

ROUSSELL

ST. JAMES – Melvin “Roundhead” Roussell, 70, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 27. He was the husband of Florence Roussell and father of Sharon Steib, Veronica Weber, Valerie, Anthony, Danny and Reginald Roussell, and the late Melvin Jr., and Alvin Roussell.

He was also the son of the late Edward and Elnora Roussell, and brother of Rosalie Nash, Alvin, Warren, Mervin, Earl, and the late Irving and Eddie Roussell.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 30 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.

TAMPLAIN

LAPLACE – Chris “Affie” Tamplain, 49, a native and resident of Garyville, died Dec. 27. He was the companion of Victoria Christian.

He was also the son of Daniel Tamplain, and the late Shirley Brown Tamplain, stepson of Hazel Tamplain, and brother of Danielle Vicknair, Barbara Sheets, Sherie, and the late Terry Tamplain.

Services were Dec. 30 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
