ALEXANDER

LAPLACE – Charles Alexander, 62, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 19.

He was the son of Hilda Madere Alexander, and the late Daniel Alexander, and brother of Mack Alexander, and the late Carolyn Michel.

Services were Dec. 22 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

BARRE

EDGARD – Ronald “Koosh” Barre, a resident of Edgard, died Dec. 18.

He was the son of the late Marie Legaux Colas and Emile Barre Sr., stepson of the late Joseph Colas, brother of Joyce Bernal, Gloria Marrero, Anthony Barre Sr., Charles Barre Sr., Kenneth Colas, Ricardo Colas, Lynette Johnson, and the late Emile Barre Jr., and Betty Frank.

Services were Dec. 23 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.

LEGGETT

ST. ROSE – Lillian Leggett, 80, a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and resident of Tylertown, Miss., died Dec. 20.

She was the wife of the late Robert W. Smith, and mother of Melanie Champagne of LaPlace, Stephanie Brown of Jefferson, Marie Smith of Tylertown, and Ruth Tomlinson, Darlene Maique and Lynette Smith of Metairie.

She was also the daughter of the late Jim and Maggie Jackson Leggett.

Memorial services are pending at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.

SCIONEAUX

LAPLACE – Nancy Springer Scioneaux, 66, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, and resident of LaPlace for 49 years, died Dec. 21.

She was the wife of the late John “Bert” Scioneaux, and mother of Dana Bonnette, Mark, Todd and Lee Scioneaux.

She was also the daughter of the late John B. Springer and Bessie Fullmer, and sister of Teresa Timothy and John W. Springer.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 24 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
