GARYVILLE – A 26-year-old Garyville man was recently arrested for burglarizing a South Fig Street residence after the crime lab identified a fingerprint submitted by authorities with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Reginald Holmes, of 420 Little Hope, Garyville, was arrested on Dec. 1 for the Oct. 15 burglary, according to Public Information Officer Sgt. Dane Clement.
Clement said evidence collected at the residence and submitted to the Crime Lab for analysis was enough for an arrest warrant for Holmes.
According to Clement, Holmes is a suspect in two other Garyville burglaries. The Sheriff’s Office is waiting for an analysis of evidence submitted to the Crime Lab. The evidence may implicate Holmes.
Authorities said Holmes has prior arrests, including criminal trespassing, principal to armed robbery and distribution of cocaine.
Holmes paid the $17,750 bond set by Judge Mary Hotard Becnel and was released.
