LAPLACE – A St. John Parish dump truck driven by an Edgard parish employee slid through a traffic light and struck an oncoming vehicle Thursday afternoon.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries.
Senior Trooper Christopher Maurin reported that the 1993 International truck driven by Erin Lumar, 34, of Edgard, was northbound on Airline Highway. His passenger was Michael Johnson, 44, of Edgard.
At Rue de Sante, the green light changed to yellow and Lumar braked, but slid through and struck the oncoming 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Horance Crochet, 30, of Port Allen.
Lumar was cited for careless operation and for having an improper driver’s license class.
