Time short for cooking entries

LAPLACE – Hurry and get your entry in L’Observateur’s Holiday Cookbook Contest, as time is getting short!

L’Observateur, along with three local businesses, are joining together to offer cash prizes this year for the annual L’Observateur Holiday Cookbook.

The cookbook features the top holiday recipes from amateur River Region cooks, and will be published in our newspaper on Saturday, Nov. 19.

For the first time ever, cash prizes will be awarded for first place, second place and third place from the recipes submitted for this year’s publication.

Gregg’s Neighborhook Market will give a $150 prize for the top recipe selected.

Frank’s SuperValue will award a $100 gift certificate for the second place recipe, and Wal-Mart Supercenter has a $75 gift certificate for the third place recipe.

All recipes submitted to the paper will be judged by an expert judge, with the top three recipes announced in this year’s cookbook, and published along with the winner’s picture. No more than three recipes may be submitted by an individual, and no professional chefs are eligible for the contest.

Top recipes submitted will also be published in the annual cookbook which will be printed in the Nov. 19 L’Observateur newspaper.

Recipes must be submitted to the paper by Monday, Nov. 9. Send your recipes, along with your address and phone number, to:

L’Observateur Holiday Cookbook, P.O. Box 1010, LaPlace, La., 70069.
