RESERVE – The 56th annual St. John Sugar Queen Pageant is set for Saturday at the St. John Theatre in Reserve, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Pageant chairwoman Suzanne Cancienne said tickets will be on sale at 6:30 p.m. at the door.

Theme of the pageant is “High Sugar Visits Las Vegas,” and will feature a modeling show presented by Formal Connection of LaPlace.

The queen will represent St. John Parish at the state festival in New Iberia in October.

The current queen is the daughter of Rick and Kelly Edwards of LaPlace.
