LAPLACE – A third kidnapping suspect was in custody Friday morning, too late to be included in Saturday’s article on the page one incident.

Roddy Nevers, 34, of 1806 Lee Drive, in LaPlace, was added to those already arrested for the kidnapping of a man for allegedly owing them money for drugs.

Capt. Michael Tregre earlier reported the arrests of Gavin Anderson, 22 of Reserve, and Larry Butler, 37, of Garyville. All three are charged, with Anderson booked for aggravated kidnapping and the other two for being principals to aggravated kidnapping.

Bond was set at $100,000 by 40th Judicial Judge J. Sterling Snowdy.

The man had been held in a residence for more than a day until he convinced his alleged captors on Thursday night that a relative at River Parishes Hospital could supply the money they demanded.

Once there, he told the deputy on duty and the roundup began.

The investigation is still continuing, Tregre said.
