For 50 years, Vita Monica of Garyville dedicated a St. Joseph’s Altar to the saint on March 19 in Italian-American tradition. Advancing age forced her to discontinue the practice about four years ago although the family usually gathered for a private celebration each year. Mrs. Monica sadly passed away last October and in her memory members of her family and friends contributed toward a small altar in her memory at the home of her son, Carl. Pictured are L-R, her sister, Frances Falgoust, Inez Blank, Carl Monica and Leona Miano.
