Senior Olympics coming at end of March

The Senior Olympic Games will hold the 2004 Bayou River District Games on Saturday, March 27 to April 21, 2004 at sites around the area. Deadline for entry into the games is March 17. Entry forms may be acquired by calling Doris Chenevert at 985-652-5695. Forms are also available at River Bend Lanes in LaPlace and Council on Aging.

Foundation seeks volleyball teams

The Sports For Youth Foundation is now accepting High School volleyball teams, Club volleyball teams, and individual volleyball players for the 2004 Goodwill Ambassadors International Volleyball exchange program. The program is open to both Canadian and American boy’s and girls. Members of this years team will represent, their Country, Community and the Goodwill Ambassadors teams, in volleyball tournaments and local competitions in, London, Paris, Geneva, Venice and Rome. Ten Star camp accepting

applications

Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only and is for boys and girls ages 10-19. Players from 50 states and 11 foreign countries attended the 2003 camp. College basketball scholarships are possible for players selected to the All-American Team. Riverside Academy to hold golf

The 13th annual Riverside Golf Tournament is scheduled for April 5 at Belle Terre Country Club. Tee times will be available for 32 groups beginning at 8:00am and for 36 groups at 1:00pm. There is a $100 donation required per golfer. Riverside is also in need of hole sponsors at $50 per sign. For more information, contact Mickey Roussel at 536-4251. SCC to hold golf

tournament in March

The St. Charles Catholic quarterback club will hold its annual golf tournament March 29 at Riverlands Golf and Country Club in LaPlace. There will be a morning and afternoon session. The cost is $100 per player and $400 per team. For more information, call 652-3029.

HHS to hold basketball clinic this month

Hahnville High School will be hosting a basketball camp for youth (ages 4-15) on March 28 from 5-6p.m. The clinic will teach fundamentals of shooting, passing, dribbling, ball handling, defense and rebounding. Basketball needed for the clinic include: basketball shoes, reversible jersey, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude. The instructor will be Kevin Robicheaux from Hahnville. The fee will be $65.
