St. John

DAVIS

KENNER – Theodore Kennedy Davis Sr, 91, a native of Kenner and resident of St. Rose died Feb. 24.

He was the father of Theodore Kennedy Davis Jr., Jonell Jones, Irma Davis, Barbara Davis, Cynthia Williams, Flora Mae Davis, and Lois Henderson.

He is survived by twenty grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was a retired aircraft cleaner.

Services were Feb. 28 at Oakland Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at Charity Cemetery, Kenner.

FEIST

HAHNVILLE – Theresa Davis Feist, 55, a native of Hahnville and a resident of Boutte died Feb.21. She was the wife of Herman Feist.

She also was the daughter of the late Evelina Bourgeois and Joseph Davis and the sister of Evelyn Alexander, Elizabeth King, Bobbie Sandolph, Joseph Jr., Larry, Edward, Issac and Otis Davis, the late Louise Pinkney, Joyce Campbell, Dolly Butler, Lawrence Sr., Larry and Jacob Davis.

Services were Feb. 28 at Harvest Time Christian Center, Hahnville with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte.

GIARDINA

GRAMERCY – Verna Giardina,76, a lifelong resident of Gramercy died February 28. She was the wife of Frank Giardina and the mother of Grayson Giardina, Shane Giardina, Myles Giardina and daughter Deborah Chabaud.

She was also the daughter of Wilmore and May Kroll.

She is survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was also a retired vice-president of St. James Bank.

Services were March 2 at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Gramercy, with and interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.

HANSON

RESERVE – Monica Marie Hanson, 76, a native of New Orleans and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 22. She was daughter of the late Marie and Clarence Hanson and the sister of Clarence “Chuck” Hanson.

Services were Feb.28 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with an interment at St. Louis #2 Cemetery, New Orleans.

LUMAR

EDGARD – Victor “Lil One” Lumar, 81, a native and resident of Edgard, died Feb. 29.

He was the husband of the late Corinne S. Lumar and father of Carter, Roger, James, Gilbert Lumar Stella L. Mathieu , and Jerry Lumar, Sr.

He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with an intermetnt at the church cemetary. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

NESBIT

KENNER – John ”J. D.” Nesbit, 86, a native of Stephens, Ark., former resident of Norco, and a resident of Kenner, died Feb. 27.

He was the husband of Nina Shepherd Nesbit and the father of Elaine Gaudet, Donna Nesbit, and the late Stanley and Laverne Nesbit.

He also was the son of the late Lucy Hartsfield and John L. Nesbit and the brother of the late Gracie Odell and Doyle Nesbit.

He is survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were March 2 at 11 a.m. at Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner, with an interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.
