LAPLACE – A 14-year-old Metairie girl claimed on Tuesday she had been raped by an employee of her father, who lives in LaPlace. An arrest has been made.

According to Capt. Michael Tregre of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, the girl spoke with a detective and alleged that in August 2003, she was visiting her father in LaPlace. That same night, one of her father’s employees, was also sleeping over. During the night, she said, the employee forced himself on her.

Since that date, she continued, she had experienced nightmares and had been too frightened to tell anyone what had happened, according to Tregre.

The girl provided the detective with information on how to find the employee, whom she named. The father is no longer a St. John Parish resident.

On Wednesday, Anthony Robert Stuprich, 23, of 15075 Bear Island in Maurepas, was charged with carnal knowledgeof a juvenile and contempt of court. Bond was set at $20,000 by 40th Judicial District Judge Mary Hotard Becnel.

In another matter, an arrest was made Jan. 12 of Libby Perkins, 36, of Darrow. Tregre said that while working as a home-health nurse, Perkins allegedly forged her name on prescriptions, filling them at local pharmacies.

Perkins was charged with 32 counts of making forged prescriptions of painkillers. Her bond was set at $100,000 by Judge Becnel, and Perkins has since posted bond and released.
