It is our intent that this page will assist the Sheriff Office in apprehending criminals who are at-large in order to make our parish safer.

We appreciate the anticipated support from our readers who share our vision of cleaning up crime in our neighborhoods.

Reserve man charged with domestic

violence

LAPLACE – A 28-year-old Reserve man is charged with domestic violence and second-degree battery following a Jan. 6 incident.

Capt. Michael Tregre reported that Tyra Lee Joseph, of 503 Homewood Place in Reserve, allegedly arrived at the residence of a 23-year-old woman and began pushing her around, finally shoving her down a flight of stairs and also kicked her 11-month-old son.

Deputies arrived at her residence at 7:53 p.m. to find her with a cut to her forehead and heavy bruises to the right side of her face.

Also, the infant had a bruise to the right side of his face.

Tregre said Joseph came into the residence and allegedly got into an argument with her, throwing furniture around and knocking holes in the walls, and also overturned the refrigerator.

He then allegedly began punching and kicking the alleged victim as she held her son. She managed to get upstairs and called 911, but not after being shoved down the stairs.

When officers arrived, Joseph was in the front yard and allegedly began resisting arrest, kicking at officers and pulling away from them. The deputies used pepper spray to subdue him.

Joseph is charged with disturbing the peace by fighting, resisting arrest by violence, simple criminal damage to property and two counts each of domestic violence and second-degree battery.
