HAHNVILLE – Detectives are still searching for a white male suspected of the attempted armed robbery on Dec. 1 of a Montz convenience store.

Sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Patrick Yoes reported that the suspect walked in to Harry’s One-Stop on River Road in Montz at 6:38 p.m. and asked for cigarettes and food items.

When the 45-year-old male clerk started to retrieve the items, the robber added, “Let’s see what else you have,” and pulled a knife on the victim, Yoes said.

The robber then jumped over the counter and attempted to grab at the victim, who pulled away while tearing his shirt.

The victim then threw a teapot lid at the suspect, shattering the front door glass, and the robber left with nothing, fleeing in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Detective Claude Adams at 783-1135 or 783-6807.
