St. John the Baptist Parish

BANKS

LAPLACE – Jesse Banks, 79, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 28. He was the brother of Bertha Tatum and Caldonia Greene.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran as a seaman first class and a janitor at St. John the Baptist Parish public schools.

Services were Dec. 4 at Providence Baptist Church No. 1, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.

BARBIER

WHITE CASTLE – Cleveland Joseph “Butsy” Barbier, 94, a native of White Castle and resident of St. Rose, died Dec. 2. He was the husband of the late Edna Richard Barbier, and father of Margaret Daigle, Catherine Ardonne, Rosemary Fremin and Richard Barbier.

He was also the son of the late Ernest and Armance Dugas Barbier.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 5 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, with interment at White Castle Mausoleum.

BARDY

NEW ORLEANS – Louie Emanuel Bardy Jr., 79, a native of Metairie and resident of St. Rose for eight years, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of Shirley Randazzo Bardy and stepfather of Louis, John and Troy Cochran.

He is also survived by one step-grandchild.

He was a retired instructor for the U.S. government and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

BORDELON

LAPLACE – Alice Mildred Brown Bordelon, 80, a native of Lebanon, Kan. and resident of Gonzales, died Dec. 1. She was the wife by first marriage of the late Percy Bourgeois, and by second marriage of James Bordelon and mother of Bruce Bourgeois of Gonzales, Cynthia Wall of Nashville, Tenn., Becky Hyde of Prairieville and Sandra Lockwood of LaPlace.

She was also the daughter of the late George and Dolly Brown, and sister of Harold, Lynn, Louise, and the late Melvin and Alvin Brown.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

DOTTOLO

LAPLACE – Hazel Madere Dottolo, 80, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 1. She was the wife of the late Felix Dottolo, and mother of Maria Galliano, Paulette Fulton, Donny, and the late Felix “Brother” Dottolo Jr.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 4 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

LeBLANC

GRAMERCY – Bearl Agnes Decareaux LeBlanc, 89, a native and resident of Gramercy, died Nov. 30. She was the wife of the late Hyson LeBlanc, and mother of Gwendolyn Tregre, Rhonda Buck and Barry LeBlanc, and the late Hyson “Sonny” LeBlanc Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Herman “Dick” and Mamie R. Decareaux, and sister of Nell Bond, Zue Davis and Kenneth Decareaux, and the late Larry and Thomas Decareaux.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

PERKINS

PAULINA – Rosalie Perkins, 97, died Nov. 30 in Lutcher.

Services were Dec. 3 at Israelite Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment at Antioch Cemetery.

TROSCLAIR

RESERVE – Fred P. Trosclair Jr., 73, a native and resident of Reserve, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of Dot Trosclair and father of Fred III (Peanut), Cyril (C.J.), Ricky and Joey Trosclair.

He ws also the son of the late Fred Sr. and Emma Trosclair, and brother of Leda Mae Steib, Annie Scioneaux, Eldon, Adam and Jim Trosclair.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Services were Dec. 2 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

WEBER

LAPLACE – Dewey “Airline” “Pal” Weber Jr., 79, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace for 30 years, died Dec. 3. He was the husband of Bernice Levet Weber and father of Paulette Hall and Wayne Weber.

He was also the son of the late Dewey and Emma Weber, and brother of Farrel Weber, and the late Verna Millet, Connie Miano, Ramona Hebert, Chippy and Eddie Weber.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was a retiree for the St. John Parish Sewage and Water Department.

Services were Dec. 5 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
